This is something I have see in my own career as well. I had leaders that I would give everything to ensure success, and I had leader where I knew my rights and the company regulation in detail in order to provide the minimum without getting into trouble. Relations are everything. Employees are not head-counts or numbers, but human beings. They come to work, but they also come to foster relationships and have good time at work.
